Atoma diamond plates come in three grits. This construction makes the plates durable rust resistant and reliable for lapping. It will lap sharpening stones with ease and in less than 1 minute it will flatten stones like shaptons or choseras. The 140x is for rapid material removal.

These plates are made of mono crystalline diamonds as the abrasive surface on stainless steel body made of 10mm think machined aluminium plate. This particular coarse is a little more coarse than i usually need for sharpening purposes but i would imagine the higher coarse atoma stones will perform very well. Much like the atoma 140 the 400 is very coarse. The atoma plates work really well for lapping stones and doing initial bevel setting as well as repair work on your knives.
